I painted Goodness in Abundance as a reminder to pause and give thanks for the goodness of God. There is something about an apple harvest that naturally brings my heart toward gratitude—the trees heavy with fruit, the beauty of a season coming to its fullness, and the simple abundance of something grown and gathered by hand.
A harvest is a reminder that good things often take time. There is a season of planting, growing, waiting, and finally gathering the fruit. I think our lives can be much the same. Sometimes we don't see what God is doing while we are in the middle of the growing season, but in time, we can look back and recognize His faithfulness.
Psalm 107:1 calls us to give thanks simply because He is good. His goodness isn't dependent on the season we're in, and His steadfast love doesn't run out when circumstances change.
I wanted this painting to feel like a moment of gratitude—a celebration of what has been given and a reminder to recognize the Giver behind it all.
