I painted Ever Green as a reminder of what it means to be rooted in God. The evergreen trees standing in the warmth of the light became a picture of a life that remains grounded through changing seasons.
I love that Psalm 1 doesn't describe a tree that never experiences changing seasons—it describes one that remains planted. Its leaves do not wither because its roots are continually nourished. That feels like such a beautiful picture of faith. We may walk through seasons of uncertainty, waiting, growth, or even difficulty, but when our roots are in Him, we can continue to flourish.
Evergreens quietly remain when the landscape around them changes. They are a reminder that God's faithfulness doesn't change with our circumstances. He is still good, still present, and still worthy of our trust in every season.
